A Note from Sara Stevenson
I hope Alma´s and my collaboration reached you somehow; it felt natural for me.  Both of us are telling stories suggested by the sculptures´ carriage, movement.  As you can see from her haikus, she is a fierce, poignant, playful writer, sometimes, all at once!  Occasionally, she reads her poems out loud to me which is when I like them best! To see more of Alma´s poetry, click here

A Note from Alma Turner
Sara imbues buddhas, yogis, Ganesh, a Chinese warrior with humanity. Her work gently nudges us to love, laughter, honesty with ourselves, one another, our Creator.  Each sculpture speaks to the heart, peeking into candid milli-seconds when an itchy toe, the need to say "hello" overwhelm rigid roles.  "Sad Buddha" took my breath away the first time I saw him, capturing the agony of a moment when even the buddha was unable hold back tears.  "I can't bear to see and feel such suffering!"
To be asked to write haiku for Sara's sculpture is a great honor!
